Hotel Content Creation & Monthly Social Media Management in Dubai
What a hotel content shoot captures, how one-off production differs from monthly social media management, and what an ongoing month actually involves.
Hotel content creation is the planned production of photography, video and short-form social content that shows a property as guests experience it: rooms, dining, wellness, the setting and the service. Monthly social media management is the ongoing work of turning that content into a running presence: planning the calendar, publishing, replying to comments and messages, and reporting each month on what happened.
Hotels can buy either one on its own. This guide is for general managers, marketing directors and hotel marketing teams in Dubai and the UAE deciding which they need. Sortie Media is a Dubai agency working mainly in hospitality, and we do both with one team: we shoot our own photography and video, and we run the accounts it is published on.
Why hotels need consistent, distinctive visual content
Guests cannot try a stay before they book it. Photographs and video are how they judge the room, the pool and the restaurant. They also shape the impression of the hotel before anyone arrives. Two properties can list the same facilities and feel nothing alike. Content is where that difference has to show.
Consistency matters as much as quality. A strong annual shoot followed by months of mismatched phone photos tells the audience less than a steady stream of content that clearly comes from one property with one point of view. Distinctive content is also harder to confuse with a competitor down the coast. Good content supports how a hotel is understood and considered. On its own, it does not guarantee bookings.
What a hotel content shoot can capture
A well-planned property shoot covers the things a guest compares before choosing, and the atmosphere a feature list cannot describe:
- Rooms and suites: every category sold separately, plus the signature suites.
- Dining: outlets in service and empty, dishes and drinks, and the room at its busiest hour.
- Wellness and facilities: spa, pool, beach, gym, kids’ club and meeting space.
- Design and architecture: public areas and details photographed for how they are used.
- People: staff, chefs and service moments, which make a property feel run rather than staged.
- Guest experience and events: arrival, celebrations, launches and seasonal programming.
- Destination: what surrounds the property, which often decides a booking as much as the room.
Each format does a different job. Photography serves the website, booking channels, print and social feeds. Reels and short-form video are shot vertically for Instagram and TikTok rather than cropped from landscape footage. Longer films carry the website and campaigns. Aerial footage shows the setting from above. Sortie Media produces all four, and we hold DCAA and GCAA permits for commercial drone filming. Every aerial shoot is still subject to approval for the specific location and date.
Example: one production, several formats
For Radisson Collection Resort & Spa in Galle, Sri Lanka, Sortie Media produced a destination film and a photography set in a single production. It covered the architecture, interiors, the oceanfront setting and lifestyle scenes, with aerial coverage alongside. The film below came out of that shoot. The full set is in the Radisson Collection Galle case study.

One-off content production vs monthly social media management
The core difference: production supplies content, while management runs the accounts. Many hotels with an in-house marketing team only need the first. Hotels without that capacity usually need both.
| One-off content production | Monthly social media management | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | A library of photography and video for a defined need | A consistent, actively run presence on social channels |
| Planning | A brief and shot list for one production | A channel strategy and a calendar that is reviewed every month |
| Deliverables | Edited stills and video, delivered as a content bank | Ongoing content, captions, scheduled posts and replies |
| Publishing | Handled by the hotel’s own team | Scheduled and posted by the agency |
| Reporting | Not usually included | Monthly: what was published, what performed and what changes next |
| Suits | Openings, renovations, new outlets, campaigns, and teams that run their own channels | Hotels without in-house social capacity, or that want production and publishing in one team |
Most of our clients start with a single shoot before committing to anything ongoing. It is the honest way to find out whether the work suits the property.
What an ongoing monthly workflow can look like
At Sortie Media, a monthly engagement usually runs in this order. The exact rhythm is agreed per property:
- Planning. Next month’s themes, offers and dates, set against the hotel’s commercial calendar.
- Shot list. What must be captured, the hours each space is available, and what needs styling or talent.
- Production. Photography and video shot by our own team, usually around the light at either end of the day.
- Editing. Stills and video cut for each platform rather than one asset posted everywhere.
- Brand approvals. Content checked against the hotel’s guidelines and approval route before anything is scheduled.
- Scheduling and publishing. Captions, hashtags and posting handled by the agency.
- Community management. Comments, messages and day-to-day replies.
- Reporting. A plain-language monthly review that feeds into the next shoot.
Instagram and TikTok carry most hospitality work in this market, with LinkedIn where the audience is corporate. Which platforms are managed, how many shoot days a month the calendar needs, and how many outlets are covered are all scoped per hotel. They are not fixed.
A sample monthly hotel content plan
This is an illustrative editorial plan, not a package or a fixed scope. It shows how a month might be structured for a resort with rooms, dining and a pool or beach.
| Content theme | Suggested formats | Objective |
|---|---|---|
| Rooms and suites | Photo carousel, short room walkthrough Reel | Help guests understand each category |
| Signature dining | Reel of the dish or service, Stories | Build awareness with residents and in-house guests |
| Pool, beach or setting | Aerial clip, golden-hour photography | Establish location and atmosphere |
| People behind the stay | Short staff or chef feature | Show the service and personality of the hotel |
| Seasonal offer or event | Announcement post, Stories sequence | Support a specific commercial date |
| Destination | Reel or carousel of the surrounding area | Place the property in its destination |
What to post and how often is a strategy question. Our guide to hotel social media marketing in Dubai covers the content mix, the local calendar and what to measure.
How to choose a hotel content partner
- Hospitality understanding. Can they film around occupancy, housekeeping and service without asking the property to close?
- Visual consistency. Does their portfolio look like several different properties, or one house style applied to everything?
- Brand standards. Ask how they work with brand books, and with approval routes that run through a regional office.
- Production quality. Ask to see full sets from a single production, not only the best frames.
- Usage rights. Agree in writing where the content may run, including paid media, booking channels and the agency’s own portfolio.
- Approvals and delivery. Ask who signs off, how many revision rounds are included, and realistic delivery times.

Sortie Media’s approach
- Production and management in one team. We shoot what the calendar needs, rather than commissioning a freelancer and scheduling whatever comes back.
- Photography and video in the same production. The property is set up, lit and disrupted once, and the results sit together on a feed.
- Shot for where it will run. Vertical content is shot vertically, and each platform gets its own cut.
- Licensed aerial work. DCAA and GCAA permits, subject to approval for each location and date.
- Clear ownership. The client owns the content. Usage, including whether we may show the work in our portfolio, is agreed in writing before the shoot.
- Hospitality experience. Clients include Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Raffles, Anantara, Radisson, Andaz, Fairmont Doha and W Dubai The Palm. We have produced hospitality content in the UAE, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Maldives and Türkiye.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Should our hotel choose a one-off shoot or monthly social media management?
If your team already runs your channels and only needs strong material, a one-off production is enough. If nobody in-house has time to plan, publish and reply every day, monthly management is the better fit. Many hotels start with one shoot and decide after that.
How is a hotel content shoot planned?
We start from access, not from the creative: which rooms are free and when, when each outlet can be shot, and what the property will not allow on camera. The shot list, styling and the order of the day are built around those windows and the light.
Can you work within our existing brand guidelines?
Yes. We ask for the brand book and the approval route before the first shoot. For branded properties, that usually means confirming tone, logo use, colour grading and any sign-off through a regional office.
What content formats do you produce for hotels?
Photography, longer property and destination films, vertical Reels and short-form video, and licensed aerial footage. Stills and video can be shot in the same production.
Can we commission content only and keep running our own accounts?
Yes, and many hotels do. We deliver a content bank and your team publishes it. Stills usually arrive within a week of the shoot and video within two, depending on the number of edits.
How do you prepare a quote for a hotel?
Every hotel’s quote is prepared individually, so there are no published package rates. The quote depends on the number of shoot days and outlets, the formats and volume needed, any aerial work, the platforms managed, and the usage rights required. Advertising spend, VAT and third-party costs are listed separately.
